and crafts to be featured on their web site, and in an international
sales catalog. Contemporary and traditional Western, Southwestern,
and tribal fine arts and crafts are sought. Items may be representational,
decorative, or functional, and made of wood, metal, stone, clay,
fabric, paper, or a combination of materials. Arts and crafts
may be made and/or assembled by individuals or groups. Especially
wanted are paper prints and original paintings, sculpture and
glass art. Also needed are wood and leather works; flint knapping
and weavings; clothing items; dolls; needle crafts; fiber art
and quilted projects; holiday ornaments; table-top fountains;

Dinnerware Contemporary Art Gallery member-artist roster. Inclusion
on the roster makes an artist eligible for exhibitions. Applicants
must work in visual arts (painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking,
performance art, video, installation, etc.), reside in Tucson,
and not be working toward a degree. If accepted, candidates are
required to pay monthly dues of $35, and must be willing to contribute
time and energy to the direction and management of this cooperative

CALL TO ARTISTS. Tohono Chul Park seeks science-oriented
images and artwork dealing with the ecology and life cycle of
the saguaro cactus. Work in any media illustrating or exploring
the saguaro and its role in the Sonoran desert will be considered.
Images may be literal or philosophical. An exhibit held in the
park's Main Gallery will run from February 3 through March 29,
scheduled to coincide with Merged Realities, a conference
exploring the synthesis of art and science. Deadline for submissions

CALL TO ARTISTS. The Tucson/Pima Arts Council, at the request
of Pima County Department of Transportation, seeks proposals from
artists to create public artwork in conjunction with nine roadway
improvement projects. An artist is sought for each of the nine
projects located in Pima County, within the vicinity of Tucson.
Artists may apply for one or more of the projects. Project requires
collaboration with engineers and landscape architects. As a member
of the design team, the artist suggests overall aesthetic treatments,
artwork, and/or functional amenities to enhance the roadway project.
Art opportunities will most likely be associated with pedestrian
facilities, bicycle facilities, structures to mitigate noise,
landscape medians, roadside landscaping, residential neighborhood
screening, and other urban street features. The artist is responsible
for design and implementation of the art plan. Commissions range
from $10,000 to $60,000. Completed proposals are due October 26

CALL TO ARTISTS. The Tucson/Pima Arts Council, at the request
of the Pima County Parks and Recreation Department, is also seeking
proposals from artists to create public artwork in conjunction
with two park improvement projects: Coronado School Ball Field
improvements in Oro Valley, and Purple Heart Park expansion in
Rita Ranch. An artist is sought for each project to collaborate
with community members and County Parks personnel. Artists are
strongly encouraged to attend the pre-submission meeting at 3:30
p.m. Friday, October 23, at Pima County Parks and Recreation,
1204 W. Silverlake Road, for detailed project and application
information. Artists may apply for one or both of the projects.
Budgets are $5,500 for Coronado School Park; and $3,280 for Purple
Heart Park. Artists should consider overall aesthetic treatments,
