NATURAL PLASTERS. Women Build Houses, a network dedicated
to increasing women's access to building skills and knowledge,
presents a hands-on workshop in adobe construction. Class runs
from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, October 30. Advanced registration
is required, and childcare is available. Class fees are based
on a sliding scale, with a discount for registering for five classes.

MEDICAL LECTURE SERIES. Arizona Historical Society Museum,

presents a fall lecture series focusing on medical history from
7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays. Felipe Molina, Diabetes Coordinator, Native
Seeds/SEARCH, presents Battling Diabetes with Traditional Foods
and Cultural Values on Wednesday, October 28. The series is
held in conjunction with the Museum's newest exhibit, Life
on the Edge: A History of Medicine in Arizona. Cost is $6
per lecture, $5 for AHS members, $3 for students with ID; series
tickets are $30, $27 for AHS members. Funds raised from the series
go directly to support educational programming for schools and
the community.

PREHISTORIC WEAVING. UA Arizona State Museum. Archaeologist
Lynn Teague presents a short course on Prehistoric Southwestern
Textiles from 7 to 9 p.m. October 22 and 29, and on November
5. Course explores the materials, tools, and techniques used by
prehistoric Native American weavers, and weaving styles and designs.
Cost is $35, with a $10 discount for students, K-12 teachers and

Site Specificity and the Problematics of Public Art, discussed
in lecture by Miwon Kwon, professor of contemporary art history
