Listings COMMON SENSE FORUM. Main Library. 101 N. Stone Ave. Join the Common Sense Forum from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday, October 4. The Forum, a nonpartisan, nondenominational citizen's discussion forum, which searches for the root causes of, and possible solutions to, the significant issues facing our society. COLORADO RIVER WILD. Marriott University Park. 880 E. Second St. Join Defenders of Wildlife for an exploration of man's transformation of the lower Colorado River on Saturday, October 4. Representatives from the University of Arizona, Arizona State University, the Environmental Research Lab, Mexico's National Institute of Ecology, and others will present lectures and informative talks beginning at 6 p.m., followed by a free cocktail reception at 6:30. FAMILY TREE. Learn valuable clues for researching your family's heritage from the Friends of Family History Land and Los Descendientes del Presidio de Tucson, with classes at 1:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through October 31. HISTORY CLASS. Arizona Historical Society. 949 E. Second St. The Arizona Historical Society begins its Quickie Courses in Southwestern History series with A Quickie History of Southwestern Indians October 9. Course will present the origin stories and histories of various tribes, as well as examine contemporary issues. The second lecture, A Quickie History of Early Tucson, a look at Tucson history from the Spanish presidio days, is October 16. Lectures meet from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursdays. SONORA. The Arizona Archaeological and Historical Society presents Sonora. This six-week short course will focus on the people, cultures and land of Sonora. Lectures will be given by distinguished scholars in archaeology, anthropology and history. Lectures meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday evenings, October 9 through November 13.
