742-6455. The annual fall plant sale offers wildflower seeds,
native grass seed, shrubs, trees, cacti, succulents and exotic
plants. Find them all in the greenhouse parking lot at Tohono
Chul Park from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, October 3; and from
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, October 4.

791-4393. As part of the Conversations on Good Neighborhoods
and the Good Life project, Julie Grand, Varga Garland, Brad
Lancaster and Lucia Sayre present the educational workshop Gardens
in the Desert: Fairies, Folklore, and Fun, from 6 to 8:30
p.m. Monday, October 5, in the lower level meeting room of the
Main Library. This conversation about community gardens features
how-to's about gardening in the desert, using and preparing what
comes from the garden, and garden fairies and folklore. Call the

GARDENING DEMONSTRATION. The Pima County Cooperative Extension
offers free gardening workshops every Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the
Extension Garden Center, 4210 N. Campbell Ave., and again at 1
p.m. at the Wilmot Library, 530 N. Wilmot Road. Roses: Fall
