OUTDOORS
OUTDOOR CONFIDENCE. Parents and children are invited to
the Outdoor Saturday Program from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday,
September 27. This program teaches basic outdoor survival skills
such as land navigation, basic first aid, proper preparation,
minimum impact camping, knot-tying and tent set-up. Cost is $50
per student, parents attend free. Scholarships are available.

TOHONO CHUL PARK. 7366 N. Paseo del Norte. 742-6455. Look
for the Birds of Tohono Chul, with this docent-led birdwatching
tour at 7 a.m. Wednesday and Saturday. Walk in the Park
tours, an overview of the Park's 48 acres and its flora and fauna,
are offered at 8 a.m. Tuesday and Saturday. Art in the Park
tours, docent-guided looks at gallery exhibits, are at 11 a.m.
Thursday and Sunday. The park offers additional guided tours for
your enjoyment. Grounds are open from 7 a.m. to sunset daily.
Exhibit hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday,
11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $2. Join Park Horticulturist
Bruce Evans for The Landscape: Build It and They Will Come,
at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 30. Evans will take you through the
process of building a landscape--make-over or starting from scratch,
he'll show you the "easy" way to do it. Cost is $2,
free for members, and registration is required. Call 742-6455
