ART WALK UPDATE. Docent-guided Art Walk tours of the Arts District and downtown galleries are taking a vacation until the fall. Self-guided tours may continue, but it is suggested to call ahead and confirm gallery hours. CALL TO ARTISTS. The Tucson/Pima Arts Council Cultural Heritage Committee in conjunction with the Instito Cultural Mexicano de Mexico and the Southern Arizona Coalition of Latino Arts, are sponsoring a Dia de los Muertos exhibition featuring altars, mixed-media, paintings, and sculpture pieces. All media considered. Interested artists should submit a résumé and three to five slides. Deadline is 5 p.m. September 29. CALL TO ARTISTS. The Tucson Jewish Community Center is accepting proposals from artists in two-dimensional media for the 1998 Fine Art Gallery exhibition schedule. CALL TO ARTISTS. The Tucson/Pima Arts Council seeks proposals for four site walls along Broadway in downtown Tucson. Artists may apply for one or more walls, and may apply individually or as teams. The four walls have large, unrusticated surfaces. Any durable, safe medium, two- or three-dimensional, is acceptable. Artwork may project out beyond the reveal so long as it does not interfere with traffic safety. Submission deadline is Tuesday, October 7. EMPOWERMENT WORKSHOPS. WomanKraft Castle Art Center, 388 S. Stone Ave. 629-9976. WomanKraft continues its Neighborhood Arts Empowerment Workshop Series on September 20 with a Tile Making class. Classes meet from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Workshops are $10, free to anyone making less than $15,000 a year, carless or homeless. WAREHOUSE WALKS. Take a tour of Tucson's Historic Warehouse District with The Tucson Arts District Partnership.
