SPORTS SMOKED CHICKEN. The Tucson Synchronized Swim Team hosts a "Chicken Blast" BB-gun target shooting competition from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, February 18, at the Tucson Rod and Gun Club, located one quarter mile north of Sabino Canyon Park on Sabino Canyon Road. The best shooters win a Smoked Range Chicken every round. No shooting skills required. Experienced personnel will assist novice shooters, with loaner guns and ammunition provided. No live chickens are used. Tickets are $2, $18 for 10. Tickets are good for one target shot and raffle entry. Safety rules are enforced. Proceeds benefit the swim team. SELF-DEFENSE. Jae Kim, master martial arts instructor with 30 years experience, offers self-defense classes Monday and Wednesday at 6450 N. Oracle Road. First week is free. Call 797-0122 for information.
