ENVIRONMENT WOMEN BUILD HOUSES. Women Build Houses, an organization teaching home building and maintenance designed specifically for women, offers classes throughout the spring. Classes provide hands-on experience to increase women's access to building skills and knowledge, while promoting environmentally-safe building. A Straw-Bale Home Tour is offered from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, February 17. Bicycle Maintenance and Safe Riding Habits meets from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, February 18; and Laundry Graywater Use is taught from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, February 19. Other classes include Tool Use and Safety, Straw Bale Houses and a plastering workshop with Barbara Rose. Cost is based on a sliding scale. Registration required.
