FALL READING AND RECEPTION. The University of Arizona Extended
University Writing Works Center, a non-credit program for community
writers, presents readings by Demetria Martinez and Rita Maria
Magdaleno at its fall reception from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday,
September 15. Both writers offer workshops during the fall semester.
Following the readings the community is invited to meet the Writing
Works Center faculty and hear about fall classes. Call 626-4444

LITERACY VOLUNTEER WORKSHOP. Literacy volunteers of Pima
County train volunteers to tutor in reading and English. The next
workshops are Saturdays, September 12 and 19, at the University
of Phoenix. There's a $25 fee for books, and the registration

WRITERS' GROUP MEMBERS WANTED. A small, ongoing writers'
group with a relaxed format of checking-in, group writing exercises,
