TUCSON SIDEWINDERS. The Old Pueblo's Triple-A ballclub
boasts a new name, a new stadium and a new professional affiliation
with the expansion Arizona Diamondbacks--but there's still plenty
of old-fashioned fun at the ballpark. The Sidewinders continue
the season with a Memorial Day weekend series against the Oklahoma
Redhawks, May 22 through 25. The highlight of the homestand comes
on Saturday night, with a spectacular fireworks show following
the game. Games begin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday and Monday,
at Tucson Electric Park, 2500 E. Ajo Way. Tickets range from $3
to $8. Free tickets are available for Friday, May 22, at the Sabbar
Shrine Temple. Discount vouchers good for $1 admission to every
Monday night game are available at all Circle K stores. Two-for-one
tickets are available every Tuesday night for Safeway Club cardholders.
Every Wednesday, hot dogs are just 25 cents; and on Thursdays,
all beer and soft-drinks are $1 from first pitch until 9 p.m.
