GARDENING
BOTANICAL GARDENS. The Tucson Botanical Gardens, 2150 N.
Alvernon Way, hold their yearly end-of-season sale from 9 a.m.
to noon Tuesday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May
26 through 30. All stock will be half-price. Learn the secrets
of sensational chili from Amita of Amita's Creative Cuisine from
1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 23. Class size is limited to 15 and
pre-registration is required. Cost is $30, $25 for TGB members.
Regular admission to the gardens is $4, $3 for seniors, and free

GARDENING DEMONSTRATION. The Pima County Cooperative Extension
offers free gardening workshops every Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the
Extension Garden Center, 4210 N. Campbell Ave., and again at 1
p.m. at the Wilmot Library, 530 N. Wilmot Road. Call 626-5161

PERMACULTURE INSTITUTE. The Permaculture Drylands Institute
has a monthly fun-filled discussion of sustainable living in drylands.
They meet the second Tuesday of each month for a community breakfast

N. La Cholla Blvd. Rillito Nursery hosts a free gardening seminar
entitled Desert Gardens/Desert Habitats, featuring information
on bird and butterfly gardening, at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 23. There
