SAGUARO NATIONAL PARK. Join a naturalist for a vigorous,
five-mile birding hike in the Rincon Mountains from 7 a.m. to
noon Sunday, April 5. Wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring sunscreen,
water snacks and binoculars. Hikers need to register in advance
at the East District Visitor Center on Old Spanish Trail, or by
calling 733-5153.
WILDFLOWER FESTIVAL. Tohono Chul Park. 7366 N. Paseo del
Norte. Tohono Chul Park hosts its 13th annual Wildflower Festival
from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 5. Events include a silent auction,
music with Cool Breeze and Catacoustic Groove and a variety of
children's activities. Tickets are $40 for adults and $15 for
children 12 and under. Valet parking, food, drink and entertainment
is included in the ticket price. Tohono Chul's grounds curator
Russ Buhrow has scouted out some of the best areas to view the
desert's breathtaking wildflowers. Guided tours continue through
April 29, and are at 10 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Reservations
