CROWDER HALL. UA College of Fine Arts. Arizona Jazz Week comes to Crowder Hall February 25 through 29 with a series of concerts: Quite A Day O' Dixie performs at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 25; Jeff Haskell and Friends perform at 8 p.m. Monday, February 26; the Jazz Ensemble and Faculty Jazz Quintet perform at 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 27; and the Studio Jazz Ensemble performs at 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 28. Tickets for all shows range from $3 to $8. The UA Choraliers perform a free concert at 8 p.m. Thursday, January 29. Tickets are available through the UA Fine Arts box office. The Eastside Artists Series continues with a performance by concert organist Gordon Turk, at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 25. Program features music by Bach, Mozart, Widor and Dupre. The Foothills Artists Series continues with a performance by the Emiliani Piano Quartet at 7:30 p.m. Monday, February 26. The group features violinist Michael Russell, violist Erica Reiter, cellist Zoran Stilin and pianist Stacie Herschler. Admission is $4 at the door.

The Percussion Plus concert series continues at 8 p.m. Monday, February 26, with a performance featuring Alan Shocklee on didgeridoo, Dave Walton on steel drums, and Jim Lipson and Todd M. Hammes on percussion. Admission is $3 at the door.

RAINER BENEFIT. Rialto Theatre. 318 E. Congress St. 740-0126. There will be a benefit concert for Rainer Ptacek from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, February 24. Rainer, one of Tucson's most beloved blues musicians, was recently diagnosed with lymphoma. Giant Sand, Sam Taylor, Marianne, Naked Prey, Paula Jean Brown, Ned Sutton, Black Moon Graffiti, Greyhound Soul and Billy Sed are just a few of the musicians scheduled to perform. A $5 donation at the door is suggested. Proceeds will help pay for medical bills and family assistance. An account called the Charitable Fund for Rainer Ptacek has been established at Bank One. Donations can be made at any Bank One location. A second benefit is scheduled for March 9 at Club Congress. Call the Tucson Blues Society at 327-5593 for information.

RINCON POPS. The Rincon Pops! concert series continues with a performance by Harp Fusion at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 4, at Rincon Congregational Church, 122 N. Craycroft Road. This 11-harp ensemble plays everything from classical to jazz. Admission is by donation at the door. Call 745-6237 for information.

TSO. TCC Music Hall. 260 S. Church Ave. 791-4266. The Tucson Symphony Orchestra presents Bassically Bass, featuring Gary Karr on bass, at 8 p.m. February 22 and 23, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 25. BROWN BAG CONCERTS. Tucson Scottish Rite continues its winter organ concert series from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, 160 S. Scott Ave. Also downtown, the Goodtime Singers perform barbershop quartet-style music from noon to 1 p.m. at the Main Library, 101 N. Stone Ave.

ST. PHILIP'S IN THE HILLS. 4440 N. Campbell Ave. 299-6421. Noontime concerts are offered every Thursday from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. Upcoming concerts include: The St. Philip's Ringers on February 29. Admission is free.

AUDITION NOTICE. Arizona Opera is accepting applications for the chorus for Der Ring des Nibelungen. Production will be performed at the Wagnerian Festival June 3 through 15 in Flagstaff. Males are especially needed. Rehearsals will meet in Tucson, Phoenix and Flagstaff. Participants must be able to travel to Flagstaff for rehearsals in May and performances in June. Singers are paid for rehearsal and performance time, per diem, transportation and hotel accommodation. Membership in the AGMA Union is not required. CELTIC JAM. The Folk Shop. 2525 N. Campbell Ave. 881-7147. Join in the fun from 8 to 11 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, at this weekly Celtic music jam. Everyone is welcome, with practiced players invited to join in.

OPERA GUILD BENEFIT. The Opera Guild of Southern Arizona hosts the annual Ole Grand Opry Benefit at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 3, at the Savoy Opera House, 6541 E. Tanque Verde Road. Regalos Musicales de Amor (Musical Gifts of Love) is performed by the Sonoran Trio, featuring baritone Reynaldo Romo, tenor Adar Garcia, bass Juan Aguirre and pianist Jose Solorzano. No-host cocktails are served at 5:30 p.m., followed by dancing from 6 to 7 p.m. with Dean Armstrong and the Arizona Dance Hands. Tickets are $25, $11 of which is tax deductible. Proceeds benefit the Guild's assistance fund. Reservations and pre-payment must be received by February 27. Call 297-1492 for information.
