ART WALK. Fine artists and galleries await on the weekly
Art Walk, a self- or docent-guided stroll through the Downtown
Arts District between 5 and 7:30 p.m. Thursdays. Free tours of
public art displays and participating galleries begin at 5:30

CALL TO ARTISTS. Applications are now available for the
Tucson Arts District Partnership's Warehouse District Loan Program.
Eligible projects must leverage or support the creation of new
art space in privately-owned commercial properties in the warehouse
area. Projects can be mixed-use, but arts uses must be compatible
with additional uses. Loans of up to $50,000 are available. Application

CALL TO ARTISTS. The Tucson International Mariachi Conference
seeks submissions for the Tucson International Mariachi Conference
poster. Submit original artwork, sketches, or three slides of
work completed within the last two years. An honorarium of $1,000
will be awarded. Work should reflect the 1998 conference theme:
Aires Mexicanos--its impact and cultural significance--in
an abstract or representational style. Posters from the last 15

CALLING COMMUNITY ARTISTS. The Tucson Arts Brigade is a
multi-cultural, intergenerational collective of community-based
cultural workers. They're seeking artists interested in collaborating
on neighborhood and community-based art projects. Current projects
include a series of posters and murals on Communities in Transformation--Healing

EMPOWERMENT WORKSHOPS. WomanKraft Castle Art Center. 388

Arts Empowerment Workshop Series on November 15, with Making

OPEN STUDIO TOUR. The Tucson Arts District's Open Studio
Tour throws wide its doors from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, November
15. More than 74 artists who maintain studios in the Arts District
will open their studios for public browsing and conversation.

TRAVELING EXHIBIT. The Tucson-Pima Arts Council's Rural
arts Program, the Rural Arts Traveling Exhibit, runs from December
through July, and exhibits two- and three-dimensional works by
artists living outside of Tucson city limits in Pima County. Submission

WAREHOUSE WALKS. Take a tour of Tucson's Historic Warehouse
District with The Tucson Arts District Partnership. Tours run
the second Saturday of each month, and meet at 8:50 a.m. in the
lobby of the Hotel Congress, 311 E. Congress St. Group size is
limited, with RSVPs requested by 5 p.m. the Thursday prior to
the tour. Participants should dress comfortably, and plan on being
