Chicago's pride and joy, the River North Dance Company, returns
for a much-awaited performance at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 2.
These jazz-masters will have you dancing in the aisles! Tickets
range from $14 to $20, with senior discounts, and half-off tickets

SALSA MANIA. UA Ina Gittings Building, northeast corner
of the UA Mall. The Sovereign Arts Society, Inc., presents Salsa
Mania!, a three-day workshop designed to get you moving like
they do in Havana. On tour from Cuba, this exciting group of six
instructors will lead beginners to advanced-level dancers in the
art of Cuban Salsa. Classes meet Tuesday through Thursday, November
4 through 6. Various packages are available, with discounts for

Performing Company presents Something We Lost...1230 A.C.E.,
chronicling the dance cultures of the various ethnic groups that
laid foundation to the Malian Empire. Performances are at 8 p.m.
Friday and Saturday, and 3 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Advance tickets
are $10, $8 for seniors and students; ticket are $2 more at the

AFRICAN DANCE. 121 E. Seventh St. Learn the movements of
dance from Guinea, Senegal, Nigeria, and Afro-Brazilian and Cuban
regions with teacher Denise Hawthorne Bey. You'll also learn the
intricacies of the music, and the traditional songs and their
meanings. Classes meet from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Wednesdays. Cost is
$10 general, $8 for students, and $5 for kids grades K through

Get your costumes together and your dancing shoes on for a Masquerade
