CALL TO POETS AND ARTISTS. The Bero Gallery and The Shane House seek submissions by poets and artists for the second annual Poetry Gallery juried exhibition, juried by Trudy Wilner Stack, Curator of Collections at the Center for Creative Photography. Works must aesthetically and conceptually balance elements of poetry and visual art. All media accepted. CALL TO WRITERS. The Sonora Review is seeking poems and nonfiction on the theme Changing Landscapes--Interior, Exterior. First prize for poetry is $500 and publication; first prize for nonfiction is $150 and publication. There is a $10 entry fee per submission, with a four poem/five page maximum. LITERACY GRANTS. To support non-profit literacy programs in our region, the Mountains and Plains Booksellers Association offers grants of up to $1,000. Prospective applicants should call Lisa Knudsen at 1-800-752-0249 to receive an application. Application deadline is August 15.

POETRY CONTEST. Judges Carla Jean Eardley, published poet from Tucson, and Arleen Watkins, published author, are culling submissions for a local poetry contest.
