TOUR OF TUCSON MOUNTAINS. The 10th annual Tour of the Tucson Mountains bicycle race is scheduled for Sunday, March 31, beginning and ending at the UA campus. The main event features a 100K perimeter race of the Tucson Mountains. There is also a 50K race that begins at Desert Winds Elementary School. Children 12 years and under may participate in a five- or 1/4-mile Fun Ride. Applications are available in Tail Winds, a publication found in any bicycle or running shop. Call the Perimeter Bicycling Association of America at 745-2033 for information.

GAY RODEO. The All-Gay Rodeo Association (AGRA) Saguaro Regional Rodeo happens March 15 through 17 at the Tucson Rodeo Grounds, 4823 S. Sixth Ave. This full-event rodeo is one of the few that features all gay athletes. Tickets for rodeo events are $12 per day. Those interested in entering the rodeo or volunteering may call the AGRA office at 323-0805. GREAT HUMAN RACE. The seventh annual Great Human Race takes off from the UA Mall on Saturday, March 16. Walk, run or roll for your favorite non-profit agency. Participants gather pledges and donate the proceeds to more than 100 non-profit organizations in Pima County. Registration begins at 7 a.m. The 10K run begins at 8 a.m. followed by the 5K fun walk at 8:45 a.m. Call the Volunteer Center of Tucson at 886-6500 for information. BIKE REPAIR. Kim Young of Bicycle Intercommunity Action and Salvage (BICAS) teaches Women's Basic and Emergency Bicycle Repair from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 17, at Antigone Books, 411 N. Fourth Ave. Space is limited and don't forget your bike! A $2 to $5 suggested donation is requested for BICAS's youth and public bike program. Call Antigone at 792-3715 for registration and information. SELF-DEFENSE. Jae Kim, master martial arts instructor with 30 years experience, offers self-defense classes Monday and Wednesday at 6450 N.
