BROWN BAG CONCERTS. Main Library. 101 N. Stone Ave. The Tucson Jazz Society presents Peaches and the Soul Jazz Session at noon on Wednesday, March 17.

CANCAN CABARET. Mat Bevel Institute. 530 N. Stone Ave. 770-0900. Enjoy the sounds of the Amor Belhom Orchestra with Joey Burns, Howe Gelb, Thomas Belhom, Naim Amor, Al Perry and others doing covers of French songs. A French buffet will also be offered. Flam Chen puts on a fiery cancan show to round the evening out. Admission is $5 to benefit the Amor Belhom Duo's first western tour. See this week's Soundbites column for more information.

CIVIC ORCHESTRA OF TUCSON. UA Crowder Hall. Park Avenue south of Speedway. The Civic Orchestra of Tucson, with viola soloist Jeffrey Showell, performs at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17. Call 791-9246 for information.

JAZZ FESTIVAL. Berger Performing Arts Center. 1200 W. Speedway Blvd. The Tucson Jazz Society presents the 19th annual Primavera Jazz Festival, with featured performer Karrin Allyson. Lisa Otey and the Swingin' Seven start the show at 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 13. Tickets are $18, $12 for TJS members, and are available at Hear's Music.

SLONAKER CONCERT SERIES. Slonaker House. Second Street east of Park Avenue. 621-1157. The Honors Center and the School of Music and Dance present this brown-bag event featuring UA music students from 11 a.m. to noon on Friday, March 12.
