BOTANICAL GARDENS. Tucson Botanical Gardens. 2150 N. Alvernon Way. Birds and Gardening Tours are 45-minute guided tours exploring the plants and gardening practices that attract birds to your backyard. Tours run at 9 a.m. every Tuesday. Exploring the Tucson Botanical Gardens is a guided tour highlighting TBG history and plant trivia, and familiarizing you with native flora and other plants that grow well in Tucson. These tours are at 10 a.m. every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. Tours are free with admission. Introduction to Tucson Gardening classes focus on using drought-tolerant plants to colorful and low-maintenance effect. Classes are from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. the first Thursday and third Saturday of the month. Cost is $5, which includes admission; or $3 for TBG members. Regular admission to the gardens is $4, $3 for seniors, free for members and children under age 12. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Sunday. Call 326-9686 for information.

Listings CASA DEL AGUA. 4366 N. Stanley Place. Casa del Agua invites all area middle and high school teachers to participate in their Water Wisdom Program. Teachers and students participate in free field trips, including free transportation to the project. Outreach speaking is also available. Casa del Agua is a demonstration and education project operated by Arid Lands Studies at the University of Arizona. It includes information about indoor water conservation, xeriscape, rainwater harvesting, and graywater systems. Free tours are offered for everyone on the hour from noon to 4 p.m. Sundays, excluding holidays. GARDENING DEMONSTRATION. The Pima County Cooperative Extension offers free gardening workshops every Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the Extension Garden Center, 4210 N. Campbell Ave., and again at 1 p.m. at the Wilmot Library, 530 N. Wilmot Road. Growing Citrus in Tucson is the topic for Wednesday, March 17. Call 626-5161 for information on upcoming topics.

HYDROPONIC GARDENERS. Tucson High School Cafeteria. 400 N. Second Ave. Hydroponic Gardeners of Tucson meets the third Wednesday of every month for a 6:30 p.m. social and 7 p.m. meeting. Call Karen at 881-3248 for information.

NATIVE SEEDS/SEARCH. Sylvester House. 2139 N. Alvernon Way. Native Seeds/SEARCH presents a spring gardening workshop from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 13. The topic is Harvesting, Seed Cleaning, and Storage. Cost is $25 per workshop, NS/S members pay $20.

PLANT SALE. Tohono Chul Park. 7366 N. Paseo del Norte. 742-6455. Tohono Chul hosts its annual spring plant sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 13; and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 14. There is a suggested donation of $2.

TUCSON ORGANIC GARDENERS. Pima County Medical Society building. 5199 E. Farness St. Enjoy the free lecture: Finding Your Way Around Irrigation Systems at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16.
