GARDENING
BOTANICAL GARDENS. Tucson Botanical Gardens. 2150 N. Alvernon
Way. Birds and Gardening Tours are
45-minute guided tours exploring the plants and gardening practices
that attract birds to your backyard. Tours run at 9 a.m. every
Tuesday. Exploring the Tucson Botanical Gardens is a guided
tour highlighting TBG history and plant trivia, and familiarizing
you with native flora and other plants that grow well in Tucson.
These tours are at 10 a.m. every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.
Tours are free with admission. Introduction to Tucson Gardening
classes focus on using drought-tolerant plants to colorful and
low-maintenance effect. Classes are from 9:30 a.m. to
11:30 a.m. the first Thursday and third Saturday of the month.
Cost is $5, which includes admission; or $3 for TBG members. Regular
admission to the gardens is $4, $3 for seniors, free for members
and children under age 12. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday

GARDENING DEMONSTRATION. The Pima County Cooperative Extension
offers free gardening workshops every Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the
Extension Garden Center, 4210 N. Campbell Ave., and again at 1
p.m. at the Wilmot Library, 530 N. Wilmot Road. Raised Bed
Gardening is the topic for Wednesday, February 24. Call 626-5161
for information on upcoming topics.
GARDENING CLASSES. Community Gardens of Tucson offers classes
on Tuesday, February 23, at 4304 N. First Ave. Call 795-6393 for
information.
HYDROPONIC GARDENERS. Tucson High School Cafeteria. 400
N. Second Ave. Hydroponic Gardeners of Tucson meets the third
Wednesday of every month for a 6:30 p.m. social and 7 p.m. meeting.

WILDFLOWER WALKS. Tohono Chul Park. 7366 N. Paseo del Norte.
742-6455. These docent-guided walks take place at 10 a.m. every
Monday, Wednesday and Friday, through April 30. There is a suggested
donation of $2.
