DANCE Performances This Week CONTEMPORARY DANCE FESTIVAL. PCC Center for the Arts. 2022 W. Anklam Road. 884-6458. Southwest Dance and Pima Community College host the second annual Arizona Contemporary Dance Festival at 8 p.m. February 1 through 3. The Festival features seven prominent Arizona dance companies including Canyon Movement Company, Center Dance Ensemble, Desert Dance Theatre, Ann Ludwig Dance Theatre, Movement Source, ORTS Theatre of Dance and Tenth Street Danceworks. Tickets for Thursday and Friday nights are $12, $9 seniors and $7 children/students. Saturday tickets are $15, $12 seniors and $9 children/students, or $20 adults/seniors and $15 children/students for all three nights. Announcements MASTER JAZZ CLASS. Southwest Dance hosts a master jazz dance class with the River North Dance Company on Thursday, February 8, at Ballet Arts, 200 S. Tucson Blvd. Sherry Zucker teaches from 4:30 to 6 p.m., followed by a class by Frank Chavis from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Cost is $15 for one class or $25 for both. Tucson Friends of Traditional Music presents the First Saturday Contra and Square Dance, with live old-time string band music and calling by Penn Fix of Spokane, Washington, from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday, February 3, at the First United Congregational Church, University Boulevard and Second Avenue. Singles and couples are welcome, no experience necessary. Lessons are given from 7:30 to 8 p.m. Admission is $5, $4 for TFTM members. New dancers are admitted free. SWING DANCE WORKSHOP. Tucson Friends of Traditional Music will hold a swing dance workshop from 8 to 11 p.m. Friday, February 2, at the Zenith Center, 330 E. Seventh St. Penn Fix, a nationally known caller and swing dance instructor from Spokane, Washington, will teach six-count swing. Cost is $6, $5 for TFTM members. Call 795-6534 for information.
