LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION! Find out what it takes to make it through acting auditions with Hollywood casting director and productions coordinator Holly Hire-Collier on Saturday, January 25. Whether your California-bound, or just wonder what an audition would be like, Hire-Collier will teach the basics of acting and auditioning for the film industry, how to become an extra, and how to prepare to go on camera. ROCK THE BORDER. Southwest Center for Music. 2175 N. Sixth Ave. 884-1220. Borderlands Theater's fundraising night of music, food and fun begins at 7 p.m. Friday, January 24, with a Pachanga featuring actor/emcee Albert Soto, dance performances by Sueños Tangos and Barbea Williams, and dancing for all to the hot sounds of Tucson's Sounds of Brazil. HISTORIC HOME TOURS. The Sosa-Carrillo-Fremont House Museum, a branch of the Arizona Historical Society, offers van tours of the downtown historic districts, including Barrio Historico, Armory Park, Congress Street and the El Presidio neighborhood, from 9 to 11 a.m. the fourth Friday of each month. Refreshments will be offered after the tour. Cost is $12 per person. Walking tours of the downtown historic districts are also offered at 10 a.m. Saturdays, departing from the Carrillo House, 151 S. Granada Ave., one block south of Congress St. in the TMA Historic Block. The walking tour, which includes a slide show, is $4. Reservations are required for each of these tours, which will continue through March 29. Call 622-0956 for reservations and information.

SPIRIT OF CREATIVITY. Celebrate the spirit of creativity at the Spirit Weavers' second annual Creative Spirit Arts and Crafts Festival from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, January 25, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, January 26. Works from more than 70 juried artisans will be on display. Meet NASCAR driver Bob Seekings from noon to 4 p.m. each day. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Brewster Center Domestic Violence Services. Donations of disposable diapers and children's books in English and Spanish will be gratefully accepted at the Brewster Center booth. Admission and parking are free. Call 529-2072 for information.
