CABARET MAGRITTE. Temple of Music and Art Cabaret Theatre. 330 S. Scott Ave. Saturday, January 20 only: featured works by Phoenix performance artists Jeff Falk, Annie Lopez, new video work by Phoenix artist Steve Gompf, and other assorted performances and special musical interludes. INVISIBLE THEATRE. 1400 N. First Ave. 882-9721. Opening January 24 and continuing through February 11: Goodbye, Harry, a musical and spoken-word performance. Pianist Pamela Ross shares loving memories of a father who instilled a delicious sense of comedy and a love for music. Program includes selections by Gershwin, Soundheim, Chopin, Zez Confrey, boogie woogie and Rachmaninoff. Special ORTS benefit Sunday, January 21. Tickets are $13. Preview performances January 22 and 23, for $10. Tickets for regular performances are $15. The January 30 performance will be in Spanish. Tickets are $12. Reservations are required. LIVE THEATRE WORKSHOP. Tucson Center for the Performing Arts. 408 S. Sixth Ave. Opening January 19 and continuing Friday through Sunday through January 28: Black Comedy. Brinsley Miller is all set to impress an important art collector and his prospective bride when suddenly the lights go out and the hilarity begins. Tickets are $5 at the door. ARIZONA THEATRE COMPANY. Temple of Music and Art. 330 S. Scott Ave. Continuing through January 27: Fires in the Mirror: Crown Heights, Brooklyn and Other Identities, an exploration of race and community based on the 1991 clash between Hasidic Jews and Blacks living in Crown Heights, written by Anna Deavere Smith. By Design, a free, open forum for discussion among artists, scholars and community members, meets at 7 p.m. Friday, January 22. AUDITION NOTICE. Invisible Theatre announces auditions for One Night Stand: An Evening of Poetry and Performance, scheduled for February 17, at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, January 21 at 1400 N. First Ave. Three to eight performance artists of all ages and backgrounds are needed. Auditioners will present a three-minute sample of their work, and bring a photo and resume.
