The Art, Science and Nature of Environmental Education, a workshop designed for educators of environmental studies, meets from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, January 13. Cost is $15 and includes lunch and materials; Tohono Grounds Curator Russ Buhrow offers a Water Harvesting lecture at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 16. Cost is $2, free to park members. TURTLE MOUNTAIN. Turtle Mountain Co. live animal programs are an exciting way to learn about our fellow creatures. The programs teach about animal's life history and how we can learn to live with them. Desert Animals focuses on native animals of Arizona. SOLAR ENERGY WORKSHOPS. Solar Energy International offers a series of spring workshops in Tucson in February and March. These workshops are for owner-builders, solar career seekers, industry technicians, those working in lesser developed nations, and all other interested people. Workshops include: Solar Water Pumping, February 5 through 8; Solar Cooking, February 9 through 11; Solar Home Design, February 12 through 24; PV Design and Installation, March 4 through 15; and Advanced PV, March 18 through 29. RECYCLING CENTERS. The following neighborhood drop-off centers are open 24 hours daily: Cholla High School, 2001 W. 22nd St.; Booth-Fickett Magnet School, 7240 E. Calle Arturo; and Morrow Education Center, 1010 E. 10th St. All city and county landfills also have recycling centers. Call 791-5000 for hours and locations. Multi-material recycling facilities are located at Recycle America, 945 S. Freeway Blvd. Call 622-4731 for hours.
