Gap Kids 4500 N. Oracle Road READERS' PICK: Clothes made for kids, by kids--Gap Kids. Now what could be better than that? READERS' POLL RUNNER-UP: Sometimes they just grow too fast. Overnight it seems, the pants stop at calf-length and the bodice won't fit around the barrel chest. Buffalo Kids (1702 E. Prince Road) offers a two-fold advantage: They'll buy those perfectly good, outgrown clothes, and sell you some "new" ones in pretty fab shape. Buffalo Kids recycles kids' clothing, the same as the Buffalo Exchanges do so well for adults. They don't take soiled, worn or torn items, and lean largely toward clothes that are either classic or currently trendy. Besides their juvenile fashion sense, the staff values pure cotton, a must in Tucson's heat. Buffalo also does a good job of focusing on the seasonal. This is the place to go for a velvet dress your sweetie pie will wear for the family holiday photo and to the Nutcracker, only to destroy it a day later in the driveway mud puddle while lassoing the family dog. You're also likely to find a good Spiderman costume that your son will wear this year, but won't be caught dead in next year when he's just too cool. Buffalo also carries some equipment and toys.
