CALL FOR ENTRIES. The Arizona Authors' Association is now accepting entries for the 16th annual Literary Contest. Both published and unpublished writers may compete for awards in essay, poetry and short story categories; entries must be unpublished. Deadline is July 29. CALL FOR ENTRIES. The Society of Southwestern Authors is now accepting entries for the 1997 Short Story Contest. Stories of 2,500 words or less may be submitted. There is a $10 entry fee. CALL FOR ENTRIES. The American Poetry Association announces its National Open Poetry Contest. Cash prizes, including a $500 grand prize, will be awarded upon publication. CALL FOR ENTRIES. The Heart of Film International Screenplay Competition seeks feature-length entries in two categories: Adult/Mature action drama, and Family/Children. Prizes for both categories include $3,500, participation in the Heart of Film Mentorship Program, and airfare and accommodations to attend the Heart of Film Screenwriters Conference in Austin, Texas, in October.
