DESERT PLAYERS THEATRE. Tucson Center for the Performing Arts. 408 S. Sixth Ave. 792-8480. Opening February 14 and continuing weekends through February 23: Wait Until Dark, the story of a young girl and an innocent blind woman who outwit three hardened criminals. Performance times vary. ARIZONA REPERTORY THEATRE. Marroney Theatre. Located on the UA campus, on the southeast corner of Speedway and Park Avenue. The Arizona Repertory Theatre presents Sheldon Harnick's new musical, Dragons, directed by Daniel Yurgaitis. Performances continue through March 2. Performance times vary. Tickets range from $15 to $17 general, $13 to $15 for seniors/UA employees, and $10 to $12 for students. Tickets are available through the UA Fine Arts box office. GASLIGHT THEATRE. 7010 E. Broadway. 886-9428. Continuing through March 22: Girl of the Golden West, or No Noose Is Good News, a Western musical comedy from a rugged Arizona mining camp, where a notorious outlaw finds redemption in the love of a good woman. Regular show times are 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 7 and 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 3 and 7 p.m. Sunday. Performances are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday evenings, with a 3 o'clock matinee on Saturday, February 23. AUDITION NOTICE. The Tucson Parks and Recreation Community Theatre announces auditions for their Spring Classics tour of Mad for Moliere. Auditions are from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, February 14, at the Performing Arts Auditorium at the Randolph Center Complex, 200 S. Alvernon Way. Actors ages 7 to adult, should prepare a two-minute classical monologue. Technical volunteers, experienced or willing to learn, are also needed for lighting, costumes and set construction. HARNICK SPEAKS. Marroney Theatre. Located on the UA campus at the south end of the pedestrian underpass on Speedway, east of Park Avenue. Broadway composer/lyricist Sheldon Harnick, best known for his hits in Fiddler On The Roof and She Loves Me, will participate in a free lecture at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, February 16. Harnick will discuss the development of his newest production, Dragons, currently enjoying its Arizona premiere by Arizona Repertory Theatre. Call 621-7008 for information.
