Society will present their 1998 Barbershop Harmony Show, with
special guest comedy quartet The Aliens, at 2 and 8 p.m.

FEELING FLUTEY. PCC West Campus Music Annex. 2202 West
Anklam Road. 887-2072. the Tucson Flute Club hosts Flute Day '98
on Saturday, January 10. Events include a solo competition for
grades 4 to 12; a recital featureing Dr. Julia Larson; performance
by the TFC Chamber Choir, and a flute showcase. Competition entry
fees are $12.50, $5 for members. General admission is $5, free

SHAKESPEARE GOES TO THE OPERA. The Opera Guild of Southern
Arizona will hold its annual benefit gala of dinner and music
beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday, January 10, at the University Park
Marriott Hotel, 880 E. Second St. Enjoy a full dinner while listening
to Shakespeare-inspired operas performed by OGSA singers. Tickets

AUDTION ANNOUNCEMENT. Desert Voices invites men and women
to audition for the spring 1998 season, "Many Hearts, One
Voice." The season will include two major productions and
several community performances. Auditions will be from 6 to 7
p.m. on Monday, January 12 and 19, at the Armory Park Senior Center,
220 S. 15th Ave. Call 791-9662 to schedule an appointment.
AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENT. The Arizona Repertory Singers announces
auditions for a few good men to round out their 1998 chorus. Auditions
are January 13 and 20, and are open to tenors and basses with
choral experience, and who can read music. The choir rehearses
Tuesdays from August through May, and performs approximately 15
concerts per year. The next concert is February 2, performing
Ross Edwards' "Flower Songs" as part of The University
of Arizona's Faculty Artist Series. Call 529-1502 to schedule

CHAMBER MUSIC WEEKEND. Amateur string players are invited
to register for TAASPA's eighth annual Chamber Music Weekend,
Friday through Sunday, January 9 through 11. There will be chamber
music groups for all levels of players. Music will be provided
