Opening December 6 and continuing through December 21: Swinging On A Star: The Johnny Burke Musical, a Southwest premiere written and directed by Michael Leeds. This chronological showcase features seven musical vignettes, highlighting the best of Burke's stellar career with 40 of his greatest songs. Opening performance is 8 p.m. Friday, December 6. Opening Friday, December 6, and continuing through Sunday, December 8, only: Shadow Of The Cross, an irreverant holiday hoopla by the Mat Bevel Company. MEET MR. ROCKWELL. Tucson Center for the Performing Arts. 408 S. Sixth Ave. 792-8480. One of America's beloved illustrators comes to life in A Visit With Norman Rockwell, a nostalgic, multi-media look at Rockwell's life and works. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, December 5 and 6, and 2 p.m. Saturday, December 7. Call the box office at 622-2823 for tickets and information.

SAN PEDRO ACTORS TROUPE. SPAT Playhouse, Oracle. Located on American Avenue, just west of Hildreth's Market. Opening December 6 and continuing through December 14: The Importance of Being Uncle Roscoe, a family comedy about relatives and the holiday spirit. Performances are at 7:30 p.m., with a 2 o'clock matinee on Saturday, December 14. Tickets are $8, $5 for the matinee. Continuing through December 8: The School For Scandal, Richard Brinsley Sheridan's satirical comedy. Performances are at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, with 2 o'clock matinees Saturday and Sunday. Proceeds from the performance on Saturday, November 30, will benefit the ALS Association of Tucson.
