ARIZONA AIDS QUILT. The One In Ten Repertory Theatre of Tucson hosts a series of workshops for the conception and creation of panels to be displayed during the production run of Remember My Name, by David Lemos. Panels gathered will be sent to the Names Project in San Francisco, where they'll be joined to the National Quilt after opening night. DOWNTOWN SATURDAY. Check out galleries, street performers and unique downtown Tucson sights all day and night Saturday, November 16. Celebrate the Wild West with music by Mark Brooks, Outlaw Black, Out of The Blue, Lobo Rangers and others from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Ronstadt Transit Center; kick up your heels at an old time barn dance at 7:30 p.m. at the Armory Park Center, 220 S. Fifth Ave; bring your funny bone to the Arizona Alley from 7 to 10 p.m. for Slim & Red's Old West antics including rope tricks, skits and more. HOLY CORN! Pop over to Himmel Park's outdoor performance area from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, November 16 for the First annual Corn Festival/Festival Del Maiz. This celebration of traditional southwestern and Latin American foods, music, children's activities and dance is the first of its kind here in Tucson. NORSEMEN'S CELEBRATION. Campus Christian Center. 715 N. Park Ave. 623-7575. It's a Norseman's dream begining at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 12, at the Norsemens Federation's Cultural Series. There will be music, art and more. The Tucson Symphony Orchestra's new conductor George Hanson demonstrates his musical and speaking talents with Glimpse of Peer Gynt through Edward Grieg's Music. Watercolor artist and landscape artist Ellen Skotheim will exhibit her Norwegian Landscapes series, which show a personal view of the pristine beauty of Norway's coastline, mountains and fjords. PARTY AT THE PLAZA. 2940 N. Swan Road. Enjoy the Plaza's Gourmet Food Fairs Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring organic produce, gourmet food and Southwest specialties to sample and purchase. WINGSPAN AUCTION. Wingspan, Tucson's Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Community Center, is conducting its annual silent auction through December 15. Up for grabs this year are weekend getaways, works by local artists, and much more. All are invited to stop by the center at 422 N. Fourth Ave. to view and bid. Funds raised from the auction benefit a variety of services including a 24-hour information line, support groups, a youth group, and free HIV testing. Call 571-8183 for information.
