BAND-TASTIC! Show your support for the University of Arizona Marching Band at the fourth annual Stand By Your Band benefit on Saturday, September 6. The fun starts at 6 p.m. with a parade up Swan Road from Grant Road to Plaza Palomino. Once there, the band will continue to play throughout the evening. KRQ's Mojo and Betsy will emcee the event, which includes a silent auction and raffle, with season tickets for the UA men's basketball team up for grabs. Admission is free, raffle tickets are $5.

Listings FOREIGN EXCHANGE. UA Holsclaw Recital Hall, southeast corner of Park Avenue and Speedway. Vyatcheslav Semyonov, one of the most honored bayan players of Moscow, performs with wife Natalya Semyonov, and American bayanist Robert Stattler, at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, September 7. PLAZA JAZZ. St. Philip's Plaza. 4380 N. Campbell Ave. The Tucson Jazz Society's fall concert series features blues, bebop, Dixieland, Brazilian jazz, and everything in-between. Tucson's premiere Dixieland and swing band, Jazzberry Jam, opens the series on September 7. All concerts are from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday evenings. Tickets are $8, $4 TJS members, available at the door. UNIVERSITY MUSIC. UA Crowder Hall. Southeast corner of Speedway and Park Avenue. The UA Faculty Recital series presents The Songs of Johnny Mercer, at 8 p.m. Monday, September 8, featuring Tom Ervin, trombone; Jeffrey Haskell, piano; and Betty Craig, guest vocalist. AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENT. The Catalina Chamber Orchestra and the University of Arizona Community Choir announce the Camil Van Hulse memorial Vocal Competition from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, September 27. The four winners (soprano, alto, tenor, and bass) will perform Part I of Hendel's Messiah, as well as music by Van Hulse and Holst, at three holiday concerts, and receive a stripend. CIVIC ORCHESTRA. The Civic Orchestra of Tucson needs string players: violins, violas, cellos, and especially basses. COT is a 60-piece volunteer symphony orchestra that provides free symphonic concerts to the community, with outreach programs for Tucson's youth. Come to a rehearsal and get acquainted. Rehearsals are from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Tuesday evenings at the Tucson Jewish Community Center. Call Dr. Herschel Kreloff at 325-3002 for information.

PRODUCTION MANAGER. Desert Voices seeks a production manager for the 1997-'98 season. This part-time position works closely with the artistic director on all artistic elements of production and concert planning, and is responsible for all technical aspects of concert productions. FOOTHILLS WOMEN'S CHORUS. The Foothills Women's Chorus seeks new members for its upcoming 1997-'98 season. Auditions are not required, just a love of singing. Rehearsals are fun and relaxed, with an emphasis on musical quality. Performances include December holiday and Spring programs for various organizations and retirement communities. MUSICIANS' NETWORK. Be a part of the Tucson Musicians' Network, a local group dedicated to promoting the Tucson music scene.
