OUTDOORSFUN AT CORONADO. The Coronado National Memorial offers free fun and informative programs for the entire family during the months of July and August. No reservations are necessary; just bring yourself in sturdy clothes and shoes, wear lots of sunscreen and don't forget drinking water! Everyone bring a flashlight and meet at 9 a.m. at the Visitor Center for a moderately strenuous hike through Coronado Cave on Saturday, August 3. The Memorial's Visitor Center is located in Montezuma Canyon, five miles west of Highway 92 (15 miles south of Sierra Vista, 21 miles west of Bisbee). The Forest Service Volunteers offer free guided hikes in the Santa Catalina Mountains on Fridays through August 30. Hikes are under seven miles, with no more than a 1,500 foot elevation gain. Visit the Nature Conservancy's Patagonia-Sonoita Creek Visitor Center and enjoy bird watching, guided tours and hikes. Regular preserve hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Tohono Chul Park grounds are open from 7 a.m. to sunset daily. Exhibit hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $2. The park presents Walk in the Park tours at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, and 1 p.m. Sunday. Tours depart at 8 a.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and last about one hour. Art in the Park tours, docent-guided looks at gallery exhibits, are offered at 11 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday and 2 p.m. Sunday. SEE THE TREES. Visit the Arboretum in Flagstaff between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily, with guided tours at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. weekends through September. Pack a picnic lunch and cool off among the many garden displays; see endangered plants and animals; or just relax under a pine. Admission is $3, free for those 18 and under.
