BIG, BIG BUGS. Tucson Children's Museum. 200 S. Sixth Ave. The Children's Museum presents: Big, Big Bugs, a creepy-crawly mini-camp series for kids ages 6 through 11. Listings BUILD-A-BIKE. BICAS Youth Underground Build-A-Bike program is an eight-session program for adults and kids, offering extensive hands-on training for basic bicycle mechanics. In addition to learning new skills, you'll also be helping your community by fixing up old bikes and getting them back on the streets. Students are required to complete a 25-hour apprenticeship and final exam to earn their first bicycle. Classes are from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursdays, and from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturdays. Class tuition is based on a sliding-scale. Call 628-7950 for registration and information.

CRIME CANINE. Bookman's Used Books. 1930 E. Grant Road. 325-5767. Bookman's Kids Club invites kids to a special visit from McGruff the Crime Dog from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, July 17. LIBRARY POWER. Your local library keeps summer cool for kids of all ages! Kids ages 8 and up get an opportunity to build their own kite at 2 p.m. Friday, July 11, at the Himmel Library. Adult assistance encouraged. See the stars with your own star kaleidoscope! Joyce Tominaga teaches children ages 8 years and up how to build their own kaleidoscope on Wednesday, July 16. READY, SET, SPIKE! The Cactus Summer Volleyball Camps are now accepting registration for kids and adults. Volleyball clinics run from July 22 through July 31. Camps stress individual skill instruction, as well as team game play. Call 628-1440 for registration and information.
