Performances This Week
IRISH STEP DANCE. InnSuites Hotel. 475 N. Granada Ave.
Step dancers compete in the annual Tucson feis, Feile Rince Tucson,
from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday,
May 16 and 17. Beginning dancers will perform Saturday morning,
followed by more advanced dancers Saturday afternoon and on Sunday.

SPRING CONCERT '98. PCC Proscenium Theatre. 2202 W. Anklam
Road. The Ballet Arts Foundation presents a program featuring
dances from La Boutique Fantastique, Swan Lake, Paquita
and Waltzes. Performances are at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday,

Announcements
AFRICAN DANCE. Learn the movements of dance from Guinea,
Senegal, Nigeria and Afro-Brazilian and Cuban regions with teacher
Denise Hawthorne Bey. You'll also learn the intricacies of the
music, and the traditional songs and their meanings. Classes meet
at
7 p.m. Wednesdays. Cost is $10 general, $8 for students, and $5
for kids grades K through 12. The location of the classes has

AUDITION NOTICE. The Isis Dance Theater Company is holding
auditions for intermediate to advanced ballet, jazz and/or modern
dancers over age 30 for forthcoming fall and spring productions.
The company is also looking for actors and singers over age 30
for an original, one-act musical production. Auditions are by
appointment only, and will continue until all positions are filled.

BALLROOM DANCING. Dance to live music from

Singles and couples of all skill levels are welcome. Experience

CONTRA DANCES. The Tucson Friends of Traditional Music
present old-time contra dances to live string band music for singles
and couples, beginning and advanced. The open dance is from 8

in a relaxed atmosphere. Beginning and intermediate classes are
now forming. Classes meet for an hour and a half once each week.
