BEAUTIFUL MUSIC. The Tucson Symphony Women's Association presents A Symphony In Style, a designer fashion show, luncheon, and silent auction beginning at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 8, at the Westin La Paloma. Tickets are $45, and proceeds will benefit the Women's Association and their community projects. Call 325-6372 for tickets and information. CULTURAL EXPLOSION. Park Mall. 5870 E. Broadway. The European Multi-ethnic Alliance of Tucson (EMAT) presents European Fair '97 on Saturday and Sunday, March 8 and 9. There will be representatives from many of Tucson's ethnic clubs and organizations, with dancers, vocalists, musicians and more. Call 745-2173 for information. HISTORIC HOME TOURS. The Sosa-Carrillo-Frémont House Museum, a branch of the Arizona Historical Society, offers van tours of downtown historic districts including Barrio Historico, Armory Park, Congress Street and the El Presidio neighborhood. Tours run from 9 to 11 a.m. the fourth Friday of each month, with refreshments offered after the tour. Cost is $12 per person. Walking tours of the downtown historic districts are also offered at 10 a.m. Saturdays, departing from the Carrillo House, 151 S. Granada Ave., one block south of Congress St. in the TMA Historic Block. The walking tour, which includes a slide show, is $4. Reservations are required for each of these tours, which will continue through March 29. Call 622-0956 for reservations and information. POWWOW TIME. Visit the San Xavier District Tohono O'odham Nation on Saturday and Sunday, March 8 and 9, for their 15th annual Wa:k Powwow. There will be American Indian arts and crafts, dancing, food booths and more. Events begin at 10 a.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Admission is $4, $2.50 for children 7 and up. Call 294-5727 for information. STAR AWARDS. Ingrid E. Newkirk, co-founder and president of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, will be the guest of honor at the third annual Star Awards, Saturday, March 8, at the Ramada Inn University, 1601 N. Oracle Road. The event, hosted by SPEAK (Supporting and Promoting Ethics for the Animal Kingdom), honors business owners, members of the media, organizations and activists who have helped protect and preserve the rights of animals. Cocktails begin at 5 p.m., with dinner, awards ceremony and speech by Newkirk to follow. Cost is $35. Call 883-2488 for tickets and information. WOMEN'S DAY. Antigone Books. 411 N.
