En Vivo, Channel 40

STAFF PICK: When MTV en Español got yanked from the blue screen a few years ago, our hearts broke; but En Vivo came along to save us. Every week, veejays Regina, Ruben and Jesus treat us to a rich assortment of musica en español, a much greater variety than we ever saw on MTV. En Vivo is a mix of banda, norteña, rock, hip-hop, merengue, and pop that ranges from the sublime to the ridiculous, hailing from all over Latin America and Spain. It's all presented in a friendly, down-home style by people you're glad to welcome into your living room. Our faves: Café Tacuba, Juan Luis Guerra, and an hilarious Tropa F video about the plumber. (Airs from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturdays.)
