STAFF PICK: Many of us have closets full of clothes from
past lives: the way we saw ourselves a year ago, five years ago,
when we had that lousy office job, when grandmother insisted we
needed grown-up clothes after college. Face it, hanging in many
women's closets are wardrobes without a purpose. My Sister's
Closet seeks to put those clothes in the hands of women who
need them. Operating out of the YWCA building on Fifth Avenue
and University Boulevard, this organization collects and distributes
clothing for women who might be heading to work after drug rehab,
who've been homeless, or who otherwise simply might benefit from
having something nice to wear.
