Best Dim Sum G&L Imports
4828 E. 22nd St. STAFF PICK: For a truly strange and delicious dining experience,
check out Hong Kong Dim Sum inside the exotic supermarket
of G&L Imports. While this category might be seen as a joke
(dim sum in Tucson?), the food here is as good as that of the
dumpling parlors of San Francisco or New York. It's all due to
Chef Tong, who came here from Hong Kong five years ago in order
to allow Tucsonans to taste some of the most scrumptious shrimp
dumplings and turnip cakes around. She's also friendly and informative,
explaining in enthusiastic if broken English which dishes are
the most delicious. Just go into the G & L, make a left, walk
until you come to the frozen foods section, and then turn right
and go to the end of the aisle to find one of Tucson's most deeply
hidden treasures.
