Best Wedding Gift Request
STAFF PICK: When Phil Hubbard, D-Tucson, made a teensy request of a liquor-industry lobbyist to help him with the beer and liquor for his wedding, Don Isaacson managed to round up what he said were 10 or 11 lobbyist friends who volunteered some help, under the legal limit, of course. Hubbard also thought it was pretty nifty to ask people on his wedding invitations to skip the material gifts, since he and his lovely bride had enough junk already, and to instead donate some money to his Caribbean honeymoon fund. Did we mention there were a few lobbyists who got those invitations?
