Traitor

A beautifully photographed, twisty thriller about terrorists infiltrating the American heartland, Traitor also tries to do political commentary on the complexity of Islamic religious life. It falls a little flat there, but it does have a strong Muslim protagonist (Don Cheadle), which is nearly unheard of in American cinema. Based on a story by, strangely, enough, Steve Martin (the wild and crazy one) and Jeffrey Nachmanoff, it follows the life of Samir Horn (Cheadle) from the slums of Morocco to international intrigue and global plots for world scariness. Intermittently stupid, preachy and annoying, but generally thrilling, Traitor works as a silly Hollywood thriller and loafs as a highbrow examination of religious motivation.

Traitor is not showing in any theaters in the area.
