D2 Dispensaries celebrated the opening of its third location in Tucson on March 21.
The store at 3906 N. Oracle Road represents a partnership between the owners of D2 Dispensaries and George Roop, the owner of HALO Cannabis. Stephanie Boyden, co-founder and owner of D2 Dispensaries, stated that the company’s latest expansion marks another milestone in its journey.
“Having a third location is a huge milestone for us,” Boyden said. “It’s something we’ve wanted to do for a long time and we’re so happy to be doing this joint venture with George Roop. It feels like the next step for us.”
In Tucson, D2 Dispensaries has become a staple over the decade-plus it has been operating. Boyden said the new store has been highly anticipated.
“As soon as folks knew it was official, we started getting daily contact from various people in the community and it’s been very, very exciting,” Boyden said.
It wasn’t just the customers excited for the store’s launch; the employees were, too, though their feelings were more thrill than anxiety.
“Whenever we open a new store, it’s always like everyone’s excited but a little bundle of nerves,” Boyden said. “But I actually was there this morning, and everyone was smiling and happy…I just think that excitement is in the air.”
D2 Dispensary on Oracle Road will have the same selection of locally sourced, safe, high-quality cannabis products, including flower, edibles, concentrates and vapes.
In addition to the new dispensary’s expansive cannabis selection, the 20,000-square-foot space will feature a drive-thru similar to the Eastside location. The drive-thru is expected to open soon.
“It’s huge to have a drive-thru. It’s so convenient for our customers. It’s just an incredible experience,” Boyden said.
“We didn’t know how a drive-thru would be received when we did the first one, but we’ve gotten nothing but positive reviews…We have an incredible lobby; we love people to come in, and we still have people that have come in quite a bit, but we love being able to offer that convenience and that service.”
Boyden said the store’s grand opening was successful, and she’s happy to expand in Tucson.
“It’s always exciting to open a new store and just really expand into our community,” Boyden said. “We’re already a part of the community. We’ve been here for 11 years. Now, we’re just a bigger part of the community. I love that we have the Eastside location and…this Westside location, and then, of course, Downtown.”
