The Human Centipede

This is a tough one to sum up, but I’ll give it my best shot. Tom Six (a person whose sanity I question) wrote and directed this story about a psycho Dr. Heiter (a nasty Dieter Laser), who lives in a posh mansion deep in the woods somewhere in Germany. Two female American tourists wind up on his doorstep and foolishly drink the water he supplies them. When they wake up, they learn that they will be part of an experiment, along with an unfortunate Japanese man, to create the world’s first human centipede. They will be attached—in some cases ass-to-mouth—so that their digestive systems become one, and their knees will be incapacitated, forcing them to crawl around on all fours. So, you basically get two people who must eat shit to survive. It’s as disgusting and horrifying as it sounds. Watching this is an exercise in seeing just how much repugnant crap you can take, no pun intended. Oddly enough, I found it kind of fascinating, and it did manage to haunt and terrify me—but God help me if I ever have to watch it again. As the title implies, this is the first of at least two movies. This is only for the very brave horror fan who doesn’t mind major discomfort.

The Human Centipede is not showing in any theaters in the area.
