TAPE

As a hyper-local spinoff of Tucson Comic Con, its sister event, Tucson Art Press Exhibit (TAPE) highlights the local alternative media art scene. At the Tucson Convention Center, 260 S. Church Ave., on Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, April 19, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tucsonans are invited to geek out over anything and everything art. The primary focus is on the areas of comic books, novels, sculpture, DIY, hacker and maker spaces, graffiti, clothing, jewelry, custom & designer toys, print making, and other projects by Arizona creators. The success of the Tucson and Phoenix Comic Con will likely translate to TAPE. Cosplay enthusiasts, and anyone looking to get inspired, mark your calendar. Admission is $6 for the entire weekend, with kids 2 and under being free. More info on the group's Facebook page.
