This may seem like your standard
boy-meets-girl, girl-goes-into-a-coma,
boy-meets-another-boy-who-loves-a-girl-i
n-a-coma movie, but it’s not, because
there are no standard movies of that
genre. Instead, it’s an odd tale about
damaged people, some of whom are so
damaged that they are in comas. Still, if
you like people, feelings and comas, you
really shouldn’t miss this movie, as it is
director Pedro Almodovar’s best and
most mature film to date. Plus, it includes
scenes of a six-inch tall man climbing
across the body of a normal sized
woman, which indicates that this is actual
art, and not that cheap imitation stuff you
get at the Hallmark store.
