Sure, We All Know What We Really Call It

Tucson Meet Yourself

From Friday Oct. 10 through Sunday, Oct. 12, Tucson Meet Yourself brings together more than 100,000 people to celebrate all the diverse cultures that call Tucson home, and it's basically your job to figure out how to fit in a visit with that nice lady that dishes that great Hungarian soup, or take in some sweet potato pie from the Baptist church booth and don't forget the Buddhist monks from the Wat Buddhametta and their yummy Thai offerings. There will also be a special screening of "Deaf Jam," a PBS documentary film by Judy Lieff, about deaf teen Aneta Brodski and her journey into the spoken word slam scene, on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 9 to 10 p.m. at the Global Rhythms Stage. Tucson Youth Poetry Slam will also present Araceli Montano and Gabi Gonzales. For more on the fest, visit tucsonmeetyourself.org.
