Just a Small-Town Girl, Livin’ in a Lonely World?

UA Area April 13, 2:11 p.m.

A random young woman on a journey throughout the UA campus was suspected of an odd—but also somehow oddly appropriate—theft from a University of Arizona bookstore, according to a UA Police Department report.

UA officers were called to the A-Store at Main Gate, the newest location of the UA Bookstores chain at 845 N. Park Ave., where staff said a woman in a red jacket—not looking like a student—had come in and picked up two Journey T-shirts sporting the words "Don't Stop Believing."

They said she gave one shirt back to an employee, but the other had gone missing, and she'd almost certainly stolen it (although security-camera footage couldn't prove this).

One employee said she'd heard from staff at two other UA Bookstores chains saying they'd seen the same woman in their stores that day, implicating her as a possible perpetrator of a string of local thefts, persistent in her mission despite being financially down and out.

According to the report, the woman was neither caught nor prosecuted.
