A woman phoned authorities to report that someone had stolen about 15 pairs of underwear from her locked apartment, a Pima County Sheriff's Department report said.
The woman said, without elaborating, that "weird things" had been happening around her home. Then she discovered that more than a dozen sets of bras and panties belonging to both her and her daughter were missing.
The woman said there were no signs of forced entry.
She told authorities that she had contacted apartment management about having her locks changed.
Pissed Off
West River Road and North La Cholla Boulevard, Feb. 20, 7:14 a.m.
Deputies arrested a man who was covered "head to toe" in mud for flashing a woman while he was urinating in her yard, a PCSD report stated.
The woman said her dog had cornered Shaun Michael Muis while he was urinating. Muis' genitals were in full view as he tried to kick the dog--which was barking aggressively--away from him, she told a deputy.
According to the woman, Muis then stood on her front steps and mumbled incoherently while she called 911.
The deputy who responded to the woman's call said Muis smelled of urine. Muis denied relieving himself recently and said he was on his way to Yuma, Ariz., from Phoenix. The deputy informed him that he had been traveling in the wrong direction.
Muis was arrested for indecent exposure and booked at the Pima County Adult Detention Center.
If Only It Was That Easy
UA Area, Feb. 24, 9:11 a.m.
A man repeatedly telephoned a female college student, saying that the federal government wanted to send her a $5,000 grant for not having a criminal record, a University of Arizona Police Department report said.
The man, who had a thick Spanish accent that made him difficult to understand, identified himself as Mikey Peterson with the American Grant Information Center based in Las Vegas, the woman told police.
He told the student she would have to pay $250 in legal fees to receive the grant, the report said. She gave him her address, phone number and part of her bank account number before realizing it was a scam and hanging up.
The man called several more times and threatened to place the woman's bank information on the Internet if she didn't comply with his demands, the report stated. The woman refused.
