Oceans

Oceans sets the bar pretty high for nature documentaries. The cinematography is what sets this movie apart; shot with high-definition cameras at exotic underwater locations around the globe, Oceans introduces us to a host of unusual and beautiful marine life—both predators and their prey—without spending too much time on the history of each or explaining how they work together in the complex but delicate ecosystem. Through the narration of concerned citizen Pierce Brosnan, there are undertones about saving the planet, but there’s nothing too heavy-handed. It’s certainly not the central point of the film. Instead, go to see amazing creatures like you’ve never seen them before, and lose yourself for 86 minutes.
