There has been plenty of news coverage of the allegations of child and sex abuse against hundreds of Roman Catholic priests in America, including some high-ranking church officials. The Catholic Diocese of Tucson has responded to allegations of abuse by 15 of its priests in recent decades.
Among the questions before the church is whether women should be ordained as priests and whether married men should be allowed to continue as priests. The celibacy rule has resulted in 20,000 individuals leaving active priest service in order to get married.
