Answers to your questions about parking, entry, arrival and VIP passes

How do I get into Club Crawl®—and how do I avoid lines?

There are two main entrances into Club Crawl®. The east entrance is at the corner of Fourth Avenue and Congress Street, and the west entrance is at Sixth Avenue and Congress Street. Our last two Club Crawl® events have been our biggest ever, so to keep up with demand, we have made both the east and west entrances twice the size to accommodate the crowds. We still advise folks to show up early and beat the rush.

What are some other good reasons to show up early?

One reason is to make sure you don't miss out on some great music. We have scheduled several headliners to play earlier slots, including Al Perry at 8 p.m. at the Screening Room; Crosscut Saw plays at 9 p.m. on the KRQ Stage; Lady Dottie and the Diamonds start at 9:30 p.m. on the 92.9 The Mountain Stage; and Shaun Harris performs at 10 p.m. at Club Congress.

The second reason would be to enjoy getting dinner from one of food vendors participating this spring: Buddy's Grill, Mr. Antojo Real Sonora Hot Dogs, 17th Street Market, Lovin' Spoonfuls, La Guelaguetza Mexican Food and eegee's. There are also plenty of great dining choices at nearby restaurants.

How do I get a VIP pass? What does one do for me?

VIP passes can be purchased for $20 advance, or $25 at the door. There are a limited number available, so we advise going to either one of the Zia Records locations or the Rialto Exhibit Hall at 300 E. Congress St. to purchase yours before they run out.

VIP-pass holders will have their own entry lanes at both entrances—and a VIP pass will get you to the front of the line at all of the venues. Inside the main enclosure, the VIP pass will allow you to view the King Tut Exhibit until 10 p.m., and to enjoy the special VIP patio behind the Rialto Exhibit Hall. This patio will have a private bar and restrooms, plus soul grooves from DJ Butta Fly going until 1 a.m.

How will the street closure affect traffic coming to Club Crawl®?

We close down Congress Street at noon on Saturday to set up our outdoor stages. We then turn Broadway Boulevard into a two way street from Fourth Avenue to Sixth Avenue. Regular westbound traffic on Congress Street will resume at Sixth. We highly recommend entering downtown either from the north via Stone Avenue, or from the south via Sixth Avenue.

Where should I park?

The closest parking lot to the main enclosure is located just east of the Rialto Theatre. This lot can only be accessed from westbound Broadway; parking costs $5, and you can stay all night. Just get there early, because there are only 85 spots.

The best and biggest option close to the event is one block away, on the corner of Pennington Street and Sixth Avenue. The best way to access this garage is to head south on Stone Avenue, turn left on Pennington, and then travel east to the Scott Street entrance; or to head north on Sixth Avenue to Pennington, and then enter. There are 750 parking spots here, and the price is only $2 for the entire night.

There are 1,000 on-street parking-meter spaces near Club Crawl® that are free on weekends. The La Placita Garage, at Church Avenue and Jackson Street (one block south of Broadway), has an additional 500 spaces. With four other large parking garages nearby, the total number of parking spaces downtown totals 14,000.
